It’s not official, anything but that, it’s what several reports agree on, though, and it’s in accordance with other reports that have been surfacing every now and then for months now.
Donato di Campli, the agent of Marco Verratti, met with Antero Henrique, the new sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain, and is reported to have told him that the Italian midfielder feels it’s time to move on, and continue his career not at any club, but at Barcelona specifically.
Verrati has four more years on his current contract, a very lucrative one, and di Campli made sure to clear out that it’s not about the money, his client is not after a transfer so as to earn more.
The reason why Verratti is said to want to move to Barcelona is that he feels that’s where he has real chances to win the biggest trophy in the world, at club level, the UEFA Champions League.
As for how much it would cost Barcelona to make Verratti a Blaugrana, according to reports, the number is between 80 and 100 million euros, no matter if a PSG official is quoted by Spanish newspaper Marca as saying
Verratti is not worth €80m or €100m – he is not for sale.
