With four places still up for grabs, the Euro 2021 Groups are yet to be completed this March 2021. Following the group stage draw, all football fans’ eyes are kept peeled for the summer’s Euro 2021. Read on to find out handy details about each of the groups of the popular tournament.

Euro 2021 Group A

The teams that comprise Euro 2021 Group A are Turkey, Italy, Wales, and Switzerland. This is going to be an exciting battle between the giant Euro 2021 Group A competitors. Euro 2008 semi-finalist Turkey comes on strong with coach Senol Gunes, who coaches Turkey to 3rd place at the 2002 World Cup.

Among their key players is international striker Cenk Tosun, who joined Everton in 2018 after scoring an incredible 41 goals for Turkish outfit Besiktas during the Super Lig.

Italy, on the other hand, made it to the Euro 2016 quarterfinals and lost to Germany on penalties. With players like midfielder Marco Verratti and his extraordinary possession-based football, club trophy-winner coach Roberto Mancini appears eager to shine as an international coach. Having already won 10 games in the group, they are a favourite for the first place.

Wales is another Euro 2021 Group A team that is expected to monopolise fans interest. Led by a coach with tremendous experience (963 appearances as a player with Manchester United and 13 times English Premier League winner), and key players like all-time record Wales marksman Gareth Bale backing the team, Wales will put up a good fight for sure.

Finally, Switzerland is coached by Vladimir Petkovic, who has never failed to lead the national team to a major final since 1997.

In a tough Group A, Swiss players are assigned a heavy task. With tackler Granit Xhaka, versatile Breel Embolo, and a roster of outstandingly talented team members, they will surely not go down without a fight.

Euro 2021 Group B

Denmark, Finland, Belgium, and Russia make up Euro 2021 Group B. 1992 winner, Denmark, has won Finland 39 times, Belgium 6, and Russia one time in the past. Led by multiple league title-winner in Scandinavian countries, coach Age Hareide, who has also guided the international team to the 19 of World Cup 2018, Denmark is excited to play in Copenhagen, with over 30,000 fans cheering the national team.

Keep the names of attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen and fast-moving forward Jacob Bruun Larsen – they are expected to make Denmark tick.

Finland has won Denmark 11 times – also Belgium and Russia 4 and one time, respectively. The team coach and five times Finish champ with HJK, Markku Kanerva, states they are thrilled to play their first game against their naughty neighbours, the Danish.

Keep your eyes locked on top qualifying scorer Teemu Pukki and 22-year-old Fredrik Jensen.

Belgium comes with a record of 4 wins over Denmark, three wins over Finland, and six wins over Russia. They made it to the quarterfinals in the Euro 2016 and lost to Wales with 3-1. They are called to face two hosts in the Euro 2021 Group B, which is the first time in the tournament, which makes things tough for them.

However, with coach Roberti Martinez and players like attacking midfielders Eden Hazard and Youri Tielemas, nothing is impossible. Let’s not forget that the Red Devils dominate the current FIFA rankings, making them the top national team in the world.

Russia’s Euro 2021 Group B appearance is anticipated to be fascinating. Having won Denmark, Finland, and Belgium nine, twelve, and four times respectively, they have reached the group stage and semifinals in the 2016 and 2008 tournament.

Captain, top scorer, and centre-forward Artem Cherchesov is a key player with the Russian national team. Dimitri Barinov is also having one of his best years so far, amplifying the strengths of the Russians in the hands of coach Stanislav Cherchesov.

Euro 2021 Group C

In the Euro 2021 Group C, we see the Netherlands, Ukraine, and Austria so far. The last place will be filled by the winner of Play-off Path D. This could be Georgia, North Macedonia, Belarus, or Kosovo and will be known in March 2021.

The Netherlands is one of the strongest sides of the Euro 2021 Group C, which seems exhilarated to play in Amsterdam that feels like home to them. Coach Ronald Koeman guides an exceptional team of players with an eye of a pass, excellent control, and indefatigable runners. Other than that, though, the group is very even.

Ukraine and Austria have both made it to Group Stage at the Euro 2016. Nevertheless, it is the first time for Ukraine to qualify for the tournament directly. Coach Andriy Shevchenko (5th best all-time scorer in the club competitions) is particularly focused on avoiding injuries while Austria’s coach Franco Foda foresees holding their base camp in Austria while enabling the national players to experience less travel strain.

Players from the Euro 2021 Group C who are on fire from either side are Ukraine Andriy Yarmolenko, who returns from a long-term injury like brand new, and Marko Arnautovic, Austria’s forward with the remarkable ability to unlock defences.

Euro 2021 Group D

The teams that made it to the Euro 2021 Group D stage are England, Croatia, and the Czech Republic. The final spot will be filled after determining the winner of Play-off Path C, between Israel, Serbia, Scotland, and Norway.

The English national team is the favourite in the Euro 2021 Group D. They have lost to both Croatia and the Czech Republic, which may have affected their mentality. In the past, though, England has beaten Croatia five times and the Czechs a total of eleven times.

In the Euro 2016 championships, England reached the round of 16 and lost to Iceland (2-1). Plus, the Three Lions were undefeated until they lost to the Check Republic last October, having 43 successive qualifiers in the World Cup and the European Championship.

Croatia is certainly not a weak link in the Euro 2021 Group D while the Czech Republic has gone a long way since the English played them at Wembley and Prague.

Targeting to go through the group stage, both teams’ coaches have aces up their sleeves, such as all-action Czech midfielder Vladimir Darida and Croatia captain Luka Modric, both of whom lead by example, with slick passing, energy, and superb football skills.

Euro 2021 Group E

Spain, Sweden, and Poland are the current teams in the first three places of the Euro 2021 Group E-list. The last place will be occupied by Ireland, Slovakia, Northern Ireland, or Herzegovina – whichever team wins the Play-off Path B.

Although Spain is one of the favourites to claim the title, hence exit the Euro 2021 Group E with nothing but wins, the competition in this group remains healthy. Spain, for example, has fallen short in the last couple of tournaments (the EURO and the World Cup), failing to win the title. But, coach Luis Enrique has already guided Barcelona to glory in the 2015 Champions League, so he definitely knows how to step up his game.

Sweden has already been steered to its first World Cup in over a decade. Coach Janne Andersson is armed with players that have proven invaluable for the national team, such as Robin Olsen and 20-year-old phenomenal striker, Alexander Isak.

Poland is a Euro 2021 Group E contestant that should not be crossed off just yet. They have beaten Sweden eight times so far and got out of a match with Spain as winners. With ten wins in the qualifying stages, they are guided by Olympic Games (1992) silver medalist, Jerzy Brzeczek, who admits this being a tough group.

However, he relies heavily on having some of the most lethal strikers and leading scorers of all time on the team (see Robert Lewandowski).

Euro 2021 Group F

Euro 2021 Group F is not yet completed. The first three teams that made it are Portugal, France, and Germany, with Bulgaria, Romania, Iceland, and Hungary fighting for the fourth place. The one that wins the Play-off Path A this March 2021 will fill out the remaining spot in the Euro 2021 Group F list.

Admittedly, Euro 2021 Group F is one of the most difficult groups for most teams, with two World and one European champ in it. Last year’s Euro winner, Portugal, is coached by Fernando Santos, who guides a team full of talent. As for their most-capped player and all-time best scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo, he is showing no sign of slowing down or losing his touch.

Euro 2016 finalist, France, has prepared well for the Euro, eagerly looking to claim the title, having 18 wins over Portugal and 14 over Germany. Coach Didier Deschamps led the national team to Euro 2000 and 1998 World Cup victories and is targeting a second international double with the Euro 2021 Championships.

Add to that the influence of Antoine Griezmann, best player and top scorer in the EURO 2016, and the game is already challenging enough.

As for Germany, the team comes forward with much energy and drive to go into the tournament with incredible conviction.

Coach Joachim Low guided the team to FIFA World Cup victory in 2014 trusts his players, including great passer and veteran Toni Kroos and new blood Kai Havertz, to lead the team to glory again.
