It looks somewhat hard to believe that a top player turns publicly against his club and some of his teammates, but… La Gazzetta dello Sport is quoting Marco Verratti saying things many at PSG must not have welcomed.
I do not have to go at all costs, but I want to see if they really buy champions this time
the Italian midfielder is supposed to have said, a comment usually made in private conversations, where less formal language is used.
If they do, I will be happy to stay. But every year they say they will make a big team and then we have seen the results
Verratti is also quoted saying, as if blaming the management and some of his less talented teammates for PSG’s failure last season.
The promises from PSG alone are not enough, but if this time Henrique keeps to what he says, then I will be happy to stay, no one at all obliges me to leave
the Italy international also said(?), referring to PSG’s sporting director, Antero Henrique.
Barcelona are said to be after the 24-year-old, but if he did make these comments, maybe even they won’t like his tone, turning against his club like this in public.
