Neymar and newly-signed Nelson Semedo were the ‘stars’ of a mini brawl in Barcelona’s training session earlier today, with teammates of theirs making sure to jump in so as to keep things under control.
The two players appear to have challenged for a ball more… passionately than what the occasion called for. After pushing each other and exchanging some words, Javier Mascherano was the first to make sure to separate them.
Neymar kept talking to his younger teammate as he was walking away from the scene, and even made a move to approach Semedo again, visibly angry, with Sergio Busquets this time being the one to hold the Brazilian back.
The training session was interrupted, with Neymar taking off his vest and moving towards a direction on his own, far from his teammates.
He then kicked a couple of stray balls, making no effort to hide how annoyed he was.
Barcelona tired to downplay the incident, claiming that things like that happen, are common, and people shouldn’t make a big deal out of it.
With Neymar so heavily linked with a move to PSG though, and being under an immense amount of pressure to make a possibly life-changing choice, Semedo’s challenge could be seen as just the tip of the iceberg in what must be a very stressful period for Neymar.
