With five players having turned on him, Carlo Ancelotti could no longer be the Bayern Munich coach.
It is not a rumour, this ‘five players revolt against Ancelotti’, it was said by the most official lips possible at Bayern, Uli Hoeness, the club president, talking to Westfalenpost.
There were five players against Ancelotti. It was impossible to get out of that
he was quoted saying, even though in Bayern’s official announcement of the decision to part ways with the Italian coach it was the bad results and performances that were used to back their choice.
As for the former, as of yesterday, Bayern coach, he took to social media to thank the club for the time he spent there.
It has been a great honour to form part of Bayern’s history. I would like to thank the club, the players and its amazing fans
Ancelotti wrote on his Twitter account.
It’s interesting that Thiago Alcantara – among other players – found something positive to write about their former coach (“it has been an honour to play for you. I wish you all the luck in the world for your next stage”, Thiago tweeted), while others, like Franck Ribery, chose a… neutral short comment, like “always forward”, which is what the French star tweeted.
