That is exactly what they are counting on, the fact that he is not a regular at Santiago Bernabeu, to tempt him away from the Spanish and European champions.
According to reports in Spanish and Italian media, Roma have knocked on Real Madrid’ door, making an official offer for Lucas Vazquez, an offer that, according to the same reports, was rejected.
Roma are still interested in Leicester City wantaway Riyad Mahrez, but with the Foxes looking unwilling to lower their asking price, the Giallorossi have turned their attention elsewhere.
Their sporting director, Spaniard Monchi, the man in charge of Roma’s moves in the transfer market, sees in Vazquez a player who can lift the team a step higher, and he’s counting on the regular game time he’d have in Italy to tempt him to join the Giallorossi.
According to reports, Roma offered an amount in the region of 30 million euros, which though seems to be less than what Real Madrid would accept for their 26-year old player.
As for Mahrez, Roma remain interested, just as Leicester City remain… stubborn, not making a step back from their initial asking price of approximately 45 million euros.
