After four years at the Principality, it looks like Brazilian defensive midfielder Fabinho is ready to try something different, move to a much bigger club.
According to reports, the 24-year-old has been approached by Manchester United, with the Premier League club very close to striking a deal with Monaco as well.
According to the same reports, the France champions would be willing to let their excellent midfielder go for a transfer fee of around 45 million euros.
It’s a tempting invitation. I would first talk to my agent, Monaco too, to decide everything is right. But it’s a great club, sure enough I would think well about it
Fabinho told reporters a few days ago, when first asked about Man United’s interest. Ever since then, the PL club have apparently intensified their efforts to sign him, and it could become official in a matter of days.
It is rumored that Manchester City are also interested in the Brazilian, which may explain United’s determination to close the deal as soon as possible, paying, maybe, a little more than what initially planned and intended.
Fabinho spent his first season at Monaco on loan from Rio Ave, in 2013, a few months later the Principality club signed him on a permanent deal, and ever since then he has proven vital in their successes.
