The summer is when players get to relax and not worry about muscle problems, fatigue, all sorts of injuries. Well, not for Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente.
The Spaniard broke his arm while on vacation, in what is definitely the weirdest injury he has ever sustained in his life.
According to reports, the incident happened while Llorente was cycling with his family. As for the seriousness of his situation, Swansea City don’t seem to worry too much.
Despite it not being a serious break that requires an operation, it does mean the club will have to tailor his pre-season training accordingly
a statement read.
We remain optimistic that he will be available for selection
the club added, referring to their first Premier League game next season, at Southampton, in almost a month and a half from now.
The 32-year-old striker scored a total of 15 goals last year, helping Swansea City earn the points they needed to secure themselves Premier League football for next season as well.
Llorente was one of their most decisive players, and the last thing they need is to start the new season without him.
