Despite numerous rumours that wanted him to be moving to the Premier League this summer, Germany U21 international Mahmoud Dahoud has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund instead.
Dahoud’s current club, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and the one that will be his new home starting this summer, announced their agreement almost simultaneously on their social media accounts.

Mo Dahoud is a hugely talented and exciting player for central midfield and one we have been watching intensively for several years. He has already shown he can play at the top level
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told the club’s official website, while his Gladbach counterpart, Max Eberl, said that
It was important for the player and the club that a decision was reached. Now it’s off our minds and we can move on. We will reinvest the money we get for Dahoud and try to find a good replacement for him
According to various reports, Liverpool were the English team that were following Dahoud the closest, at least up until a few days ago, when apparently Jurgen Klopp and his associates at Anfield changed their plans, giving Dahoud, as it turned out, an extra motive to say yes to Dortmund.
