It was same days last year that Carlos Tevez was waving the fans of his beloved Boca Juniors goodbye, having accepted a fantastic offer by Shanghai Shenhua.
Twelve months down the road, with the China Super League season over, the Argentine is back home, apparently doing his best to facilitate his return to the Buenos Aires giants.
I am permanently with him. We live six blocks away, I saw him for the last time last week and we had a little barbecue
Boca Juniors vice-president Horacio Paolini told TyC Sports, when asked if he is in touch with the 33-year-old striker.
It should be resolved these days. I am optimistic. I think that from here to Friday, it should be resolved
the Boca official also said, talking about the chances of Tevez becoming a ‘Xeneize’again. Paolini didn’t give details though, regarding how this could become possible. Tevez has a two-year contract that expires in December 2018. Boca have absolutely no way of paying him the same salary he gets in China. Plus, they should pay the Chinese club to terminate their contract with them.
One thing is for sure, Tevez’s season in China was disappointing, scoring just four goals in 16 appearances, and failing big in the AFC Champions League, not even making it to the group stage.
