Hoffenheim duo Niklas Sule and Sebastian Rudy were the first players to join Bayern Munich in this summer’s transfer period. The duo has now become a trio, after the Bavarians announced the signing of 21-year-old winger Serge Gnabry, a former Arsenal player.
We are very happy to have secured the services of another young Germany international in Serge. He has developed really well at Bremen
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the club’s official website.
As for the player himself, as expected, he expressed his excitement over his transfer.
It is a big honour to become a part of Bayern. I have an exciting challenge ahead and I am really looking forward to it
Gnabry as well told the club’s official website.
The Germany international spent years in Stuttgart’s academy, before moving to Arsenal as still a teenager. Having failed to secure regular playing time there, he moved to Werder a year ago, and he spent a very fruitful season there, scoring 11 goals in 27 Bundesliga appearances.
According to reports, Bayern paid Werder a fee of 8 million euros, which could be considered a bargain, given the potential of the young winger.
