Hulk

It's a little-known fact that Hulk, star of Portugal and selected to the Brazilian national team for the first time yesterday, once played for Japanese team Consadole Sapporo. Supporters made a banner for Hulk in his Japanese and Brazilian kit.

  1. I thought it was pretty common knowledge.

Further proof that the J-League is miles away from any league outside of Europe/Latin America.

  2. Are you being serious? It’s pretty well-known he played in the J-League, but if you could have named all three teams he played for in Japan (including Sapporo on loan for just one year), I’d have been very impressed.

  3. It’s not quite to the level of “peter crouch, good touch for a big man” 2006 WC levels. But everytime I’ve heard or read about him or seen him play for Porto in the CL, it comes up that he played in Japan.

  4. I get you…But I meant specifically for that team, that’s all.
