The Daily Sweeper (July 15)
Transfer rumours continue to dominate the daily press in Europe, but there’s plenty of things actually worth talking about going on elsewhere. - Norman Hubbard of ESPN says Arsenal could be a selling club for another two decades, as they continue to pay down the huge cost of Emirates Stadium. The question is, how would they stay at the top without Arsene Wenger?
- Continuing the debate over Sepp Blatter and Ronaldo’s ill-advised comments, the Republik of Mankunia cheekily suggests it’s the fans that are the slaves, not the players, with season ticket prices starting at almost £1000 at Emirates.
- The excellent Scottish football blog Inside Left profiles Dundee United, who once challenged the mighty Old Firm’s dominance
Worldwide
- The BBC with a report on how Nigerian conmen are robbing young footballers.
- More on the Viva World Cup we reported on yesterday, as James Montague offers us a superb take on Kurdistan’s motley efforts.

- Eto’o thinks European media access should be more open, as in the U.S.
- Italian fans protesting unpopular signings.
- Some People Are On the Pitch helpfully rounds-up World Cup Qualifying in Africa.
