🇨🇠Suisse à l’Euro 2020 – 2021
La Nati a réalisé l’un des plus gros coups des huitièmes en éliminant la France à l’issue d’un match totalement débridé. Menés 3-1 à moins à 15 minutes du coup de sifflet final, les hommes de Petkovic ont trouvé les ressources pour revenir au score et arracher la prolongation.
Leur qualification s’est ensuite jouée aux tirs au but, où ils ont fait un sans-faute. Lors de la phase éliminatoire, la Suisse avait terminé 3e de son groupe avec 4 points (un nul et une victoire) et s’était qualifiée via le classement des meilleurs troisièmes.

Deuxième de son groupe derrière la Suède, l’Espagne a affronté les vice-champions du monde croates en huitièmes de finale. Elle a validé son ticket au terme d’un match fou qui s’est fini aux prolongations et où 8 buts ont été inscrits.
En poules, les Espagnols n’ont gagné qu’un seul match : 0-5 face à la Slovaquie. Auparavant, ils avaient été tenus en échec par la Pologne (1-1) et la Suède (0-0). Au vu des résultats inconstants, des doutes subsistent quant à ses capacités réelles.
