Hours before tonight’s game at Leganés, Real Madrid announced the names of the players who will make the short trip just south-west of Spain’s capital city, an announcement that disclosed a gamble Zinedine Zidane decided to take.
Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are being given a much needed rest, leaving Karim Benzema alone to… represent Real’s ‘BBC’ at Leganés.

Furthermore, the French coach chose this game to rest another key figure of his side, Toni Kroos, making his gamble even bigger.
Not that Real Madrid don’t have the roster to cope with practically any absences, but even so, previous Zidane gambles have put his team to the test, not always avoiding dropping points.
Talking of Ronaldo, Zidane seemed sure that the Portuguese star will finish the season in true… Ronaldo style.
I think he is going to finish the season like never before. He’s very good physically and I hope he will end the season very well
Zidane told reporters.
Real Madrid are facing city rivals Atlético this weekend, while next week they are traveling to Munich for their Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern, hence Zidane’s decision to rest Ronaldo, Bale and Kroos tonight.
