It is not official, but according to numerous reports Arsenal have secured Arda Turan’s ‘ok’ to move to London, and now it’s up to the Premier League club to agree terms with Barcelona.
The Turkey international has a 30 million euros clause in his contract, but Arsene Wenger seems determined to insist on that price going down, knowing that Barcelona are willing to part ways with the former Atletico Madrid player, so as to secure more funds to bring in other players who, new coach Ernesto Valverde, considers more important in his Camp Nou project.
We don’t need to sign too many players, but we need to sign one or two quality players. And we are ready to spend, but always within reasonable limits
Wenger said recently, after signing a new two-year deal at Arsenal. He didn’t mention Arda’s name, unlike that of Riyad Mahrez, but according to numerous reports both in English and Spanish media, the Turkish midfielder is seen as a great match to the already existing squad at Emirates Stadium.
As for Arda himself, he knows that the new coach will bring in new players, and his already limited game time at Barcelona will be even more limited next season, is he stays there.
