Less than 24 hours after La Gazzetta dello Sport‘s report in which the Italian midfielder was quoted saying some really unprofessional things about PSG and some of his teammates, Marco Verratti took to Instagram to deny that he gave any such interview.
I did not give an interview with anyone and I have never discussed with PSG the situation presented in the article this morning. I hope you all stop talking without knowing anything. There is a limit to everything
the Italy international wrote. Earlier, he had posted a photo of the report on his account, adding a big question mark on top of it, and in a way asking the author, Italian journalist Alessandro Grandesso, to back what he had written in the article/interview.
17 years of professionalism. I confirm everything
Grandesso tweeted soon after that, totally standing by his report.
Verratti was quoted saying that he will only stay at PSG if they sign ‘champions’ this summer, if they keep their ‘promises’ to build a really big team, promises that according to what he is supposed to have said in the interview, have not been kept by PSG these last years.
