The Serie A champions had been looking for a central defender, and they have found him. Benedikt Howedes will become a new Juventus player once his medical is over, and he signs his contract with the Bianconeri.
It’s only about small details left, Benedikt can fly to Turin to have his medical
Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel told Reviersport, confirming that the two clubs have reached an agreement over the 29-year-old.
According to reports, Juventus will pay an initial €3.5m fee, signing the World Cup winner on loan for one season. If the Turin club wish to sign Howedes on a permanent deal next summer, they will have to pay an additional €11.5m.
Howedes has spent his entire career at Schalke, he started playing for their academy teams when he was still going to elementary school, he had been the captain of the team these last years, but recently things changed, the arrival of a new coach left Howedes without the armband and a spot in the starting 11, so choosing to move to a big club like Juventus, where he will be given the chance to win titles, must have been an easy decision for him.
