Usually, coaches are reluctant to lose a key player, especially one at a young age, on whom they could rely on for years and years. In Paul Pogba’s case, Massimiliano Allegri didn’t think twice before… giving the Frenchman his blessing to move to Manchester United.
I did nothing to keep Pogba
the Juventus coach told Sky Italia, which sounds… awfully honest, but he was quick to explain why was that.
Because when the club told me the numbers…
Allegri added, implying that what Manchester United were offering, €105 million plus €5 million in bonuses, was just incredibly good to turn it down.
The Frenchman became the world’s most expensive footballer, and played in a total of 51 matches for United this past season, helping them win trophies.
As for Juventus, they remained the bosses of Italy’s football scene, winning another double, having Paulo Dybala as one of their biggest -upgraded- stars.
Dybala’s game is easier on the eye, but Pogba is extraordinary because he has physicality and technique
Allegri said when asked to compare the two players. According to reports, a number of clubs are interested in signing the young Argentine, but up until now Juventus haven’t received an offer that would make them seriously consider the possibility to let him go.
