After 22 years at Chelsea, in a few weeks from now he will have to empty his locker and find a new football home for at least the next season. John Terry has already announced he won’t be staying at the Blues. Where will he be next year? Former teammate Gus Poyet says he would love to see him in China.
I think that the older players can help the younger players in China to become better players, better defenders, and I think Terry will be a great example for the young defenders in China. As a friend, I would love to see him here because he’s got plenty to teach
the Shanghai Shenhua coach told Omnisport, adding though that things today are different to what they were back in December.
If you asked me about Terry in December, I would say to you that for sure he’d be in China. The problem after the new rules were put into place, is that there aren’t many clubs looking to buy defenders. So that’s the only thing that goes a little bit against him
Poyet said, still hopeful though to see his former teammate settle down in China for at least one season.
