Arsene Wenger was asked recently whether or not Arsenal will move for Kylian Mbappe if they feel that he is indeed available, and looked rather sure that despite the London club’s financial strength, they’re not that strong as to fight against even richer clubs who could break all records to sign the young French striker.
Even so, former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires, seems confident that Arsenal will be Mbappe’s next club, once he feels it’s time to leave Monaco.
I do think Arsenal will sign him. The problem is how much
Pires told Bwin, acknowledging that money would be an issue. What he seems to have no doubt about, is who’s the best possible manager for the 18-year-old, the one who would prove the most appropriate to help him reach his full potential.
Mbappe has the potential to play for Arsenal and Wenger is the right manager to manage him. Monaco and Arsenal are very similar in clubs, so it won’t be much of a transition
the former France international said, avoiding labeling Mbappe ‘the new Thierry Henry’, insisting that it’s still too early and rather unfair to his young compatriot to carry such a ‘title’ on his back.
