Inter have a new coach, Luciano Spalletti, he’s the man responsible for choosing whom to count on in next season’s Nerazzurri squad, and judging by what he told reporters, no one is obliged to stay.
We shouldn’t convince anyone to stay at Inter
the Italian coach said, commenting on rumours that Ivan Perisic would like to continue his career at Manchester United.
I am already convincing others to join Inter and that is the most we can aspire to do. If someone is not convinced, he is good to go and play where he feels more motivated
Spalletti then said.
It won’t be that simple, though. Inter paid 16 million euros two years ago to sign the Croatia international from Wolfsburg, and don’t seem willing to let him go for less than 50 million euros.
He is 28, doesn’t get much better than that for a player to be at his best, and he still has three years on his current contract, so if United want to have him, they will need to pay up.
It remains to be seen how big a priority it is for United to sign Perisic, or, maybe, spend their money on other targets, of which they seem to have several.
