Liverpool’s main goal in the previous Premier League campaign was to finish in the top-four so as to play Champions League football once the 2017-18 season starts. They did finish fourth, but James Milner is right in ‘reminding’ everyone that the Reds are not exactly ‘there’ yet.
We’ve done part of the job but we have to finish that now. It would be disappointing not to make it after all the hard work we did last year
the vastly experienced Liverpool ace told the club’s official website having the CL qualifiers in mind, adding though
I’m sure we will.
Generally, Milner feels it is important for Liverpool to start the season strongly, and he believes they have what it takes, not only because more quality players are joining the squad, but also because the team will be a year older than last season.
We’re improving all the time as a team and you can see that over the last couple of years since the manager has come in. We’re moving in the right direction
the former England international said.
New faces come in over the summer and the squad is a year older as well. It is a pretty young squad so that experience of having a successful season last year and hopefully getting some more confidence there, can stand us in good stead for the season
