It’s no secret that Lionel Messi has been working with Italian nutritionist Giuliano Poser since the start of the 2014-15 season. Not having the right to play against Granada this weekend due to suspension, he seized the opportunity to go pay him his latest visit.
According to Catalan sports newspaper Sport, the Barcelona star went to Venice, Italy, accompanied by Marcelo D’Andrea, the physiotherapist of the national team of Argentina, a person Messi is said to trust like few others.
Messi has been on a special diet since the summer of 2014, right after the World Cup finals in Brazil. He had spent the previous year facing all sorts of muscular problems, while the image of him vomiting during Barcelona’s games had become almost common.
Ever since he first met Poser and started following his suggestions, the Argentina captain has been doing remarkably better, limiting his muscular problems to the absolute minimum.
According to reports, Messi has seriously cut down on eating red meat and sugar, while he has been encouraged to consume ecological products.
Poser has worked with other Argentinian players before and after meeting Messi, like Martín Demichelis, Gonzalo Higuaín, and Luciano Vietto.
