Against Dijon, something more than a week ago, he spent the entire 90 minutes watching from the bench. Last Friday, at Metz, he wasn’t even there, and L’Equipe claim to know why.
According to their report, Kylian Mbappe had an altercation with a teammate, Italian Andrea Raggi, during training, last Tuesday. The two players are reported to have exchanged a series of insults, after which both were told to leave the pitch.
Neither Mbappe not Raggi were included in the squad that traveled to Metz for Friday’s match, which Monaco won thanks to a late Radamel Falcao goal.
Mbappe hasn’t played since the opening match of the Ligue 1 season, the 3-2 home win over Toulouse, and even then, he was substituted in the 75th minute.
Monaco’s coach Leonardo Jardim has denied that the young French striker is being punished for allegedly having asked to be transferred, claiming that he is simply not ready to play, adding that he’s leaving him out for his own good, ‘to protect him’, without though explaining what he meant by that, protect him from whom exactly.
Paris Saint-Germain remain strongly linked with a move for the young France international, and it feels that every day that passes, the gap between him and Monaco is growing bigger and bigger.
