Manchester United are hosting West Brom with Jose Mourinho not having at his disposal several very influential players. One of them is Juan Mata, only in his case the problem is much bigger.
The Spaniard underwent a surgery for a groin injury, and today’s is just one of the many games he will miss.

How many? Most probably, all, until the end of the season, even though there are reports suggesting that Mata could return in mid May, just in time to play in the very last games of the season.
Even so though, after not having played for over a month and a half, it’s doubtful he will be the… Mata who has scored ten goals and provided six assists so far this season, in all competitions.
If Manchester United have reached the final of the Europa League though, the presence of the vastly experienced Spanish midfielder could prove vital.
The game is to be played in Stockholm on May 24, and, at least according to Sir Alex Ferguson, winning the Europa League is Man Utd’s best chance to earn a ticket for next season’s Champions League, despite a top four finish in the Premier League still being within their reach.
