Soon after Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on their last Champions League group stage game against Atletico Madrid, club legend Frank Lampard shared his impressions, and didn’t bother finding a more… tactful way to describe what he thinks of Tiemoue Bakayoko.
He sleeps. His concentration goes, and at this level, you sleep for a second, and it’s an easy goal for Atletico
the former Blues captain said, talking about the French midfielder.
I don’t know with Bakayoko. I think it’s well documented that he hasn’t settled quickly at Chelsea and English football in the Premier League in general
Lampard said, adding
a moment’s sleeping today doesn’t work, so he needs to improve, but he [Antonio Conte] has got options. [Danny] Drinkwater will play as well, but hopefully Bakayoko will improve.
Bakayoko joined Chelsea last summer coming from Monaco, but as Lampard pointed out, he is still to show that the Blues can really count on him in the midfield.
As for the upcoming Champions League draw, round of 16, Lampard didn’t hide which teams he would like to avoid.
Obviously PSG, we’re all talking about them and Barcelona, we all know what they have to offer. Chelsea fans will realistically look at Besiktas
his comment was.
