For more than a month now, there was this doubt over whether or not Manchester United had done everything legitimately in the case of Paul Pogba’s transfer from Juventus.
Turns out, they did, they got clear by FIFA who had been investigating the case. The same though, cannot be written -yet- about the other part involved, Juventus.
We can confirm that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against Juventus FC. We cannot comment further as proceedings are ongoing. We can confirm that no disciplinary proceedings have been opened against Manchester United
a FIFA spokesperson informed reporters, obviously not in a position to give details, since, as he mentioned, “the proceedings are ongoing”.
The problem seems to be the money received by Mino Raiola (in the photo, with the Frenchman), Pogba’s agent, and a possible breach of third-party ownership rules.
If Juventus are found guilty, they will be punished with anything from a simple fine to a much more serious transfer ban.
As for Pogba himself, he’s enjoying his vacation, knowing that next season he will have to step up his game, after his anything but impressive second… debut season at Old Trafford, having returned there last summer.
