It’s being rumoured for weeks now that Manchester City will make a move for Alexis Sanchez this summer, but knowing that they will have tough competition from other top Premier League clubs, they seem to have prepared a ‘plan B’.
According to various reports, City will not be the only ones who will try to lure the Chile international away from Arsenal, with Manchester United and Chelsea also interested in signing one of the Premier League’s most charismatic players. Actually, United manager Jose Mourinho is reported to have contacted personally Alexis Sanchez, to let him know that he very much wants him at Old Trafford.
It’s Spain’s Don Balon who reported that if City fail to sign Alexis Sanchez, their ‘next best’ choice is James Rodriguez, with the Colombia international seemingly unhappy at Real Madrid.
Rodriguez has seen little action under Zinedine Zidane, and even when he gets to start a game, he’s usually being substituted, something he is said to have had enough of. It hasn’t been that long that he punched the bench on his way out, after yet another substitution of his in a Primera División match.
