Former Schalke ace Sead Kolasinac has already joined the Gunners this summer, and their chief executive Ivan Gazidis seemed confident that this was just the first of several more important signings, answering fan questions in a Q&A event.
We signed one of the players in the Bundesliga team of the season
Gazidis said, referring to Kolasinac.
We’re looking for top quality additions
he added, avoided giving details on whom exactly Arsenal are trying to sign, even though it’s a common secret (not even) that they are very much interested in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette and Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar.
The Arsenal executive couldn’t avoid answering questions regarding Arsene Wenger as well, insisting that the club decided to offer him a new deal because, taking everything into consideration, that was deemed the best for the team.
It wasn’t a sentimental decision. It was a mutual one
he said, refusing that Arsenal stack with the French manager simply because they couldn’t stand putting an end to his impressively long presence at the club.
Gazidis talked up Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke as well, something that didn’t go down well with several of the fans who participated in the event.
