Six years after leaving Turkey for Spain, to play for Atletico Madrid, it looks like he could be on his way back to his homeland.
Arda Turan is a true Galatasaray fan. He is a player I love. As a player, he has always represented us well and been an ambassador for the club. He’s a true son of Galatasaray
Dursun Ozbek, president of the Istanbul club, told Hurriyet, talking about today’s Barcelona midfielder.
Our biggest desire is for Arda to return to Galatasaray and end his career where it all started for him. We are working towards making this a reality
Ozbek also said, avoiding giving details about the stage at which Galatasaray’s pursuit of Arda Turan is at.
According to reports, the Turkish club are willing to give Barcelona €2.5 million to get the player on loan for one year, offering the 30-year-old midfielder €4m for the next ten months.
Turan’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, has said a number of times earlier this summer that his client won’t be leaving Barcelona, but it’s obvious that under Ernesto Valverde he will have even less game time than under previous coach, Luis Enrique, something that could prove important in his decision to stay at Camp Nou or return to a club where he will be treated like a… sultan.
