Chelsea are close to winning the Premier League title, and despite the fact that the team have many top players, in Hernan Crespo’s mind there is no doubt who deserves most of the credit for the Blues’ impressive season.
Conte deserves much credit for Chelsea’s success. He is proving that once again managers from the Coverciano school (that’s where the Italian FA headquarters and training centre lie) are the best tactically, without the shadow of a doubt
the former Chelsea striker told Omnisport. The Argentine, who won the PL title with the Blues in 2006, believes Conte has been fantastic in striking a much needed balance between Chelsea’s lines, starting with their solid defense, and reaching their full of talent offense.
He made sure that the defensive group was solid and reliable, then organized the midfield tactically. It proved to be successful. It allowed more freedom to offensive players to express their talent and making that move was key to Chelsea’s success this season
Crespo said, before reminding everyone of Conte’s previous successive jobs.
Starting from Siena and Bari, Conte’s teams have always proved to be great tactically, with all players knowing exactly how to move on the pitch. The greatest example of that was the Italy national team, they produced very entertaining play despite not having any superstars, something that could be achieved only thanks to Conte’s vision
the former Argentina international said.
