How to use Euro 2020 tips when placing your bets

As we’ve touched upon, there are lots to consider when you make Euro 2020 tips and predictions. The most important consideration is to do your research. Examine and study everything that could impact the outcome of your bet.

That could be form, injuries, suspensions, fixture pile up and so on.

Each aspect can play a huge part in dictating odds. Always try and find value in your betting odds. The most successful bettors combine research with finding value in the odds on offer from their bookmaker.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at the major aspects to examine before you place your bets on the tournament. These are just a selection of the most important criteria. Remember, anything that can dictate the way a game plays out.

Current Form

The first thing to look at is the recent form of the teams involved. For example, if a side is on a six-game winning streak, confidence will be high. That could mean that side has a better chance of winning. Similarly, if a side is struggling to win games, the odds on that team to win would be longer.

In addition to researching previous match results, it’s also a good idea to look at goals scored and conceded in those fixtures. The quality of their previous opponents should also be considered.

Squad Selections

Squad selections can also play a huge part in Euro 2020 tips. To stand the best chance of making successful predictions and bets, research is key here. Look at the quality of players in the squad, injuries and suspensions.

Importance of the Match

Another aspect to consider is how important the fixture actually is. Let’s say a side has already qualified as group winners. They’re up against a side who need the victory to ensure their qualification to the next round. While the group winners might be the better side on paper, their opponent’s need for the win might turn the tides.

Rivalries

Games between rivals always add a little extra spice to European Championships fixtures. It can also greatly impact the result of a particular fixture. If you’re planning on betting on a match featuring rivals, it’s a good idea to assess previous results between the two sides.

Results so far: Euro 2020 football betting

The new Euro 2020 format, with the unprecedented 11 host countries, means that every nation has to go through the qualifiers. It also means that we won’t know the full Euro 2020 lineup until November.

With the exception of Scotland’s devastating upset by Kazakhstan, there were no big surprises in the qualifiers so far. The major favourites to win Euro 2020 have for the most part had an easy stroll through the initial rounds.

Euro 2020 Tips: Favorites & Underdogs

Almost any Euro 2020 predictor will at this point tell you that France is the main contender for winning the European Championship. Coupled with a star-studded cast of players, there is little doubt as to why Le Bleus are the favourites to win Euro 2020.

England is another big favourite. With a host of young talent in its lineup and the fact that the final will be played at Wembley, England will have both the skill and motivation to win their first European Championship.

Other teams among the top favourites include the always looming Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, each one with their own score to settle. Euro 2016 winners, Portugal, have shown little ever since. Their exit in the last 16 in the World Cup and their tepid performance in the qualifications so far shows that they have lost the edge in play that would make them a serious threat.

Talking about the underdogs, Croatia seems to still be riding the World Cup high, and they hope they can repeat the success. However, their odds aren’t stacked too favourably, when we take into account their ageing line-up.

Bet on group stage: Euro 2020 tips

When it comes to qualifiers the teams are divided into 10 groups and the qualifying matches have started in March 2019. For the first time in 60 years, the European Championship will be spread across 12 host countries. This means there will be no automatic qualification and that all 55 national teams have to compete for the 24 places in the tournament. Only 20 of the 24 teams will qualify directly through the qualifications, while the remaining 4 spots will be decided in the play-offs, which will take place in March 2020.

After the qualifications, the draw for the final tournament will be held on 30 November 2019 in Bucharest. The 24 qualifying teams will be split into six groups of four, with the names of the final 4 teams not known until the end of the play-offs.

Bet on third place prognostic qualification for Euro 2020

Only the top two teams in each of the groups will advance to the knock-out stage. The four remaining spots are reserved to the third-placed teams with the best group stage record. When the actual group draws are done we’ll be able to give you an accurate Euro 2020 predictor on which teams we expect will qualify.
