Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke didn’t pronounce the names of the two clubs that have been heavily linked with a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but they definitely got the message.
We will wait a few more days but not longer than that. We have not had any offers
Watzke told Welt am Sonntag talking about the Gabon international, practically repeating what Dortmund have been saying for weeks now, that they are not going to sell one of their most important players, and probably the hardest one to replace, after a certain point in time.
The longer it takes Chelsea, Milan, or any other club to make an official offer for Aubameyang, the harder it will be for the German side to find a replacement for him, if a deal does happen.
I personally would prefer if he stays. But there are a few clubs on this planet where he can obviously earn more
Watzke also said, a comment that most probably Aubameyang won’t like, since the Dortmund CEO is clearing saying that it’s not ambition to play at a higher level that is driving the Gabonese away from Borussia, but the temptation to earn more money.
