It has turned into one of the biggest football ‘dramas’ this summer, with accusations of betrayal flying in the air, and threats regarding people’s safety (their family’s as well) having been made.
Milan accuse Gianluigi Donnarumma of betraying them, Mino Raiola, the young goalkeeper’s agent, said that his client and his family received threats for their life(!), and even though things have kind of cooled down the last week, it’s still unclear what will happen with the 18-year-old who is out of contract at Milan in a year from now.
One of those who talked to Donnarumma relatively recently was Gianluigi Buffon, as the Juventus legend himself revealed.
I don’t give advice, because I always made my own mistakes and would only be adding further chaos to the situation. I did have a bit of a 15-minute chat with Gigio, though. I can’t tell you what we said
Buffon told Sky Sport Italia, before revealing one little detail though.
I have no idea if he’ll remain at Milan, but I merely tell him to do what makes him happy
the Italy goalkeeper said.
Claudio Ranieri as well commented on the subject, backing the young keeper, feeling that it’s not a matter of money, but pure ambition.
It is not about money because the offer from the Rossoneri leaders is excellent. It is a matter of ambition, a professional career path. If Donnarumma went to Real Madrid he would probably win two or three Champions Leagues in the next 10 years, right?
the newly-appointed Nantes coach said.
