He has even been compared to Diego Maradona, even though that may feel as an exaggeration.
Brazilian legend Pele, took it a step further, doubting not only his… similarity with Maradona, but also his quality in general.
He’s not as good as people say
Pele told Tuttosport, asked about Paulo Dybala.
They say he might be the heir to Maradona, but the only thing they have in common is that they kick with their left foot
one of the top players of all times said as well, critical of the 23-year-old Argentine.
Despite ‘not being as good as people say’, Dybala has scored 30 goals for Juventus in the Serie A alone these last two years.
He is yet to score with his national team though, having been capped seven times so far. He did play against Brazil as well, in Argentina’s 1-0 friendly victory in Melbourne.
He started the game, and Argentina’s new coach, Jorge Sampaoli, has said that he sees in him the player who one day will… take over from Lionel Messi as the team’s leading character.
