With Neymar joining Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe apparently as well on his way there, two sorts of rumors are currently making the circles regarding Julian Draxler.
First, the player himself is reported to be willing to move elsewhere, so as to have guaranteed playing time. Second, PSG need to do something, at least something, to balance the books, as much as possible, not because they need the money, but because they are bound by the Financial Fair Play rules (even though, at this stage, this looks like a joke).
One of the clubs that have been linked with a move for the young Germany international are Bayern Munich, but their president, despite admitting that Draxler is a great player who would make the team even stronger, explained why signing him this summer is simply not an option.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and I have recently been together and talked about what a mixture of class players we already have in this squad
Uli Hoeness told Bild, adding
if we were going to make a transfer like Draxler, the next question would be the same as in the case of James [Rodriguez] – what about Thomas Muller?
The Bayern president went on to praise PSG’s player, but even so, his stance is clear; no Bayern move for Draxler this summer.
It is clear that Julian Draxler is a player who would be a good match for Bayern, but we do not want to sell any of our players. I also already have bellyache if all our players our fit
Hoeness said, joking, knowing that no top player enjoys sitting on the bench.
