They have already signed nine players this summer, Argentina international Lucas Biglia became their new player number nine just this last weekend, but they are showing no sign of slowing down.
I can confirm that Milan have shown interest in Renato Sanches
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild, referring to AC Milan.
There is no agreement yet
he added, with reports claiming that the two sides are rather close to shaking hands.
Milan are reported to have offered Bayern €7 million to ‘borrow’ the 19-year-old Portuguese for two seasons, agreeing on a €40m fee in case they decide to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer of 2019.
Sanches impressed with Portugal in France’s Euro 2016, but his first season at Bayern was disappointing beyond description, playing something more than 600 minutes in the Bundesliga, in 17 appearances (only six as a starter), not scoring a single goal.
Bayern paid Benfica €35m, but many ‘generous’ bonuses were included in their deal, that could skyrocket the total cost to €80m.
As for Milan, after signing nine players and, most of all, Leonardo Bonucci, they have rather proved that they mean business this summer, and won’t stop pushing for a player they really want to sign.
