Arsenal have announced the signing of a player they had been heavily linked with for months now. Sead Kolasinac will continue his career at Emirates Stadium, a major step up from Germany’s Schalke.
Sead Kolasinac will join us this summer on a long-term contract. Subject to the completion of all regulatory processes, the defender will start pre-season training in July
the club announced on their official website, posting photos of the Bosnia and Herzegovina international wearing Arsenal’s jersey.
Kolasinac is joining the Gunners on a free transfer, with Schalke being the big losers in this case, since they failed to convince him to sign a new deal with them, and they didn’t sell him when they still could.
The Germany-born left-back played in a total of 25 Bundesliga matches this season, 24 of those as a starter, scored three goals, and generally was one of the few players who managed to stick out, despite Schalke’s pitiful campaign.
According to various reports, Arsenal first approached him months ago, with Arsene Wenger a firm believer of what a great addition he would be to the team’s roster.
Kolasinac can cover other positions as well, as has already done for Schalke and the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
