Are kidding me? You wrote an article about supporter groups and you fail to mention The Emerald City Supporters (ECS). The Seattle Sounders have a top 50 fan base in the world. By next year we should crack the top 40. This happens because of the excitement that the ECS brings to our venue. Outside of the games the ECS is deeply involved. In Seattle we have an Alliance Council that has the power to boot the front office leadership if they don't perform up to our standard. You better have the backing of the ECS if you are Hanauer, our GM. They are also involved in community events. I'm not trying to discredit any other supporter group. Well maybe that little group from Portland. Calm down. Just a joke. Welcome to the MLS. Back to the point. It's foolish to mention supporter groups without including the ECS or even the LA Riot.

[...] Growing Recognition For American Supporters Groups by Tom Dunmore at Pitch Invasion It wasn’t too long ago that MLS supporters’ groups who consistently numbered more than a hundred hardy souls per game could be counted on the fingers of one hand nationwide, and were about as popular as herpes with MLS front office folks.
Sons of Ben = Overrated. So hyped it's ridiculous. They barely sing and the "hardcore" element of their group consists of some Green Street wannabes.

Once Portland and Vancouver move to the MLS, and with Montreal following right behind, Ralph's Mob in Tampa Bay will be the largest and loudest supporters group in D-2 soon. In about four months, it's grown to over 300 members and is actively involved with FC Tampa Bay's front office in marketing and sales. Once the Timber Army takes a step up, there's groups coming right behind them to take their place.
