Today’s look at World Cup-related newspaper front pages around the world could have taken one of dozens of covers that featured Italian agony, heads bowed in hands. But instead, we will look at the noble exit of New Zealand, with kiwi pride in exiting unbeaten and with their heads held high.

  1. Great performance from the “All Whites” Thye can take some real proud form the tournament with leaving undefeated. In a past tournament Italy actually qualified with three draws so it could have been even better for them!!

  2. Certainly a stark contrast to (some of) their French counterparts.

New Zealand is rightfully very proud of their boys.

  3. NZ definitely surprised me this tournament and they have every right to be proud of their performance. It made me chuckle to see the column on the right talking about 2014. Here’s hoping they do.

I’d be curious to see what the Italian press has to say.
