CVO and Stephen, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I personally disagree both from my knowledge of him and the way I read his answers. He is self-effacing, even self-deprecating. He takes responsibility for MLS project, he admits that their integrated system isn't all that unique, he admits his choice for coach could very well fail, he admits to learning lessons in his experiences over the last year and he says that NASL is better off working with MLS than going it alone, which would've been the arrogant response.

Jeff is certainly a confident person as he certainly should be, in the way many great forwards are, but not cocky. I'm sorry if you feel he came across that way in this piece, because if that's how he did come across then i don't think my column really captured who he is. I don't think he has all the answers, but I'm sure he doesn't believe he has them either. Like all of us, he's learning along the way.

The guy is so far up his own ass and clueless it's not funny. Sure glad Nike and the USSF had some senses and didn't allow this guy to run the 2nd division this year.
