Point of order - Oxford aren't the biggest club currently in the English Non-League Pyramid, Luton Town are.

Excellent summary. Brought back a lot of wonderful memories.
Seeing the brief highlights from `86 put a massive grin on my face from start to finish.
Fingers x for the rest of this season.
Thanks again.
ps .. I agree with Karl with regard to the Maxwells & Kassams of this World.
Business rules. People don`t matter a jot to them.

Great article, shows how the club has been used as a commodity to make money for unscrupulous businessmen concernced with feathering their own nest at the expense of anything else. The Maxwells, Kassams of this world, these people truly are the scum of the earth, makes my blood boil the way they and their ilk ride roughshod over football clubs in their dash to get snouts in the trough. Makes my blood boil it does ..

Anyhow onto matters more pleasant. Oxford, as Headington Utd were amongst the first British clubs to experiment with floodlit football. Some sources claim them to be the first professional British club to install floodlights, other sources reckon it's Southampton FC. Either way Headington were pioneers and their floodlit home game v Banbury Spence in December 1950 was one of the first floodlit games of the fifties.
