Also, us using the term "business world" is us purporting that there is a world that exists outside of the business world.

This "world," including every culture/economy that comprises it, is business. Unfortunately.

Sartre would say....Baudrillard....Quick, ugh, someone use a curse word!!!

Anyway, I bet Tom loves it when people from the "business world" spend their time at work commenting on his site.

There is a bit of irony in my being annoyed by a fake band, isn't there? Of course, I'd argue that fakeness used as a platform for satire and critical analysis serves a different purpose than vaguely defined fakeness that exists to make a tv broadcast seem like more of an event. Of course, like Dan pointed out, we're both advertising a for profit event, so who cares?

Adam S. -- agreed. Not that I'd be one to say how the business world works myself, but it seems the term is overused by sports writers to explain a supposed reality a normal fan just wouldn't understand.

I love it when sports columnists inform me about how the business world really works.
