Tifo Video: U-11 Lech Cup, Poland

Posted December 18, 2009 in Tifo, TIfo Video
Lech Poznan U-11 Cup

Boy, do they start them young in Poland. Ever wondered why there seems to an endless supply of ultras willing to anything and everything for their team, from singing to, well, burning stuff at very dangerous temperatures?

Maybe it’s because the culture filters all the way down to junior tournaments.

The Lech Cup for under elevens is one of Europe’s elite youth tournaments, and this year’s edition featured Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona (well, their Hong Kong youth team spin-off) and Valencia. And of course, hosts Lech PoznaƄ, who brought a few supporters out.

The banner reads something like “Everyone starts out small in order to achieve something big.” Welcome to Polish football, kids.

  1. FRICKIN’ AWESOME. Wish someone coulda done that at my middle school games *grin*

*BUT * the confetti was kinda dickish since it obviously delayed the game so that they could clean all that stuff up. Shoulda stuck to the flares.

  2. another ridiculous thing to point out is that this was all done in an indoor arena.

  3. We should do this at the dallas cup.

  4. “(…)was all done in an indoor arena.”
So what? :-) Our ultras groups has smth called ‘pyrotechnic course’, so they know how to burn things, even inside buildings ;-) Belive or not, everything was 100% safe.

On lechpoznan.tv* webside you can find 2 clips (about this tournament), where kids was bouncing, singing and having fun, during cleaning those paper streamers/tapes. In my opininion it wasn’t so bad ;-)

*i’m afraid, that registration is required
