That article looks identical to one written by Gora on http://www.japanesesoccer.net

I'm an FC Tokyo supporter (Tom, you know me as @dokool but my soccer-related tweets are @aishiterutokyo) and yesterday was possibly the greatest soccer game I have ever witnessed. When I get home tonight I'll be uploading my report and photos from the game. Tokyo deserved it after everything we've gone through this season, but Kawasaki played well and should be commended despite the reputation they have as grass divers extrordinaire among foreign J-bloggers.

VAMOS TOKYO!

Thanks Jason -- you're right, though MLS ratings on FSC actually surged too, up 89% to an average of 51,000 http://www.multichannel.com/article/367028-Fox_Soccer_Nets_Viewer_Gains.php

Correction on the penultimate bullet: it is EPL ratings, not MLS ratings, that have surged 69% with highs of almost 300,000 viewers.

Kawasaki is an interesting club. They were, for awhile, very much second fiddle in Kawasaki when Verdy still played there. Verdy (at the time known as Verdy Kawasaki, they'd later become today's Tokyo Verdy after a controversial move which has hilariously backfired beyond all belief) was wildly successful in the late 80's and early 90's while Frontale was still the works team for Fujitsu.

After they joined the league in 1999 they quickly got promoted, but it was a yo-yo promotion and they went down at the first hurdle. In 2004 they won promotion again and this time it stuck. Aside from Kashima and Urawa -- national Juggernauts -- Kawasaki has been the best finishing team in the J. League ever sense. A title would be the icing on the cake for them.

They're a fanatically supported club as well.

Verdy, by the way, sit mid-table in J2 and sometimes have to play matches out of this cowshed of a stadium in Kita when FC Tokyo is using their normal stadium. How the mighty have fallen.
