Duly noted from your wikipedia page: "He also regularly spends time at Club Lago, an Italian retaurant in Chicago and has been known to regard it as his second office."

It was meant to be....surely hope you are free Friday, 18 September to send Colin LAGO :) (no relation to the club as far as I know...) off to his Graduate Studies in Birmingham, as that is his last Friday in the states.

Prior to our brief introduction, Colin had so many great things to say about you and still does. I suppose posting on websites he frequents could ruin a surprise, but I surely he know he will be taking this futbol philsophy with him.

cheers.

I think it's time for the fan movement to bring Peter back to the Fire...he understands and can implement so well what it seems the Fire right now cannot. I so want to love the Fire but right now it is hard with the way the team is run. I think you have it right on the spot with this article.

Skip. I don't think Chester is near downtown Philly, well according to google maps. It seems to be very "bridgeview/harrison" in it's location. I think Philly has capitalized on the Sons of Ben movement and really sold the team to the usual soccer market. I think it's just easier to sell a new market on the idea of MLS, than it is to convince people in the old markets that it isn't 1996 anymore. If Chicago, New York or DC were to join the league today, they would be getting bigger crowds than Seattle. But of course, MLS would have never survived without those markets.

Anyway, I thought Latinos have consistently been about 1/3 of MLS fans. Houston didn't have a single significant Latino player in their history until they signed Landin last week, but they have had strong Latino support all along. It's a pretty steady market overall for MLS, especially on television. I think more people watch the Telefutura game than the FSC/ESPN games combined.

Peter, in Chicago the baseball decision is almost always hereditary. I tell people my daughters are "fourth generation Cub fans."

Thanks for everything this season, I think everything (except for that 300 minute stretch where the team couldn't score) went quite well. I can't renew my season tickets right now, but promise to do so at the earliest opportunity...
