Photo Special | Chelsea Fans and the Christmas Spirit
Photo Daily’s on a seasonal break this week, but football fans don’t stop for Christmas and nor do they moderate their behaviour, as this charming photo illustrates.

Note: as Another Joe points out in the comments, one should be careful to take this photo at face value. . .

Clive Woodward certainly needs to relax a bit..
Are you sure the photo is not photoshopped?
And the Feyenoord kid loses his title after a multi-year run at the top.
How long do you think it will take for the photoshopped Lazio version to appear? I would put the over/under on a Millwall version at 1 January.
Two tickets to the Chelsea v. Aston Villa match: 80 quid.
Having your daughter photographed as she flips the bird at Gabriel Agbonlahor: Priceless.
I’m sure there’s other stuff in there, too, but really, the payoff is all you need.
Another Joe, I have my suspicions…
This certainly wasn’t taken at the Villa match as I’ve seen this picture before … I also have my doubts about it’s validity.
The Flickr text describes it as being taken at the game against Liverpool, which adds an additional layer of doubt, given that the only time the sides have met at Stamford Bridge this season was a “cold crisp evening” in the Carling Cup earlier this month, which just doesn’t work for what the featured pair (or those around them) are wearing.
The girl is also in last season’s shirt, though the older girl behind her may be wearing this season’s, given the white trim at the neckline.
In any case, my money is currently on a photoshopped montage, with the main figures likely being posed and/or themselves photoshopped. There is a crispness in their image when compared to those in the background that just doesn’t hold up to examination. And their gesture is so out of keeping with the air of resignation of the rest of the crowd as to add further to my doubts.
It would be helpful if someone could tell us if the Chelmsford flag is a regular at the Bridge.
Haha, it always makes me laugh that people leap onto the photoshop explanation for this photo.
It’s entirely real – check http://www.pcc.org.uk/news/index.html?article=NDAxMA==
