Simon Inglis did indeed notice the litter under seats before the disaster. I've got versions of his famous "Football Grounds of Great Britain" book from both before and after the disaster. The earlier edition comments on the flaps under each seat which "lift to reveal piles of accumulated litter". In the latter edition, he agonises about his previous observation, wondering whether he could have done something to prevent it. It's very poignant stuff.

Good stuff. There was (may still be) a video on Youtube of Yorkshire TV's live commentary of the match. The commentator is on the opposite side and says he can feel the heat of the fire, whilst some fans dance around with glee at being on the pitch.

They obviously didn't realise the severity of the event but it's good that such days are still remembered.
