What is more he has said that he will only select players whom are playing well rather than pick them on name alone. At last it seems, we have appointed a manager with a bit of backbone that will deliver a stiff upper lip to our players. It is of little surprise the Italians are interested in how their countryman performs in a foreign country. It does go a long way to prove that English football - especially off the field - is on its knees and needs a shake up but instead of taking time to develop our own coaches and players the FA have once again used their spending power in order to bring in someone for a quick-fix. Hopefully during Capello's time in charge, the country will use this to undertake said development of players and coaches and perhaps the next decade may be brighter for the National game.
